With all the horrible things that humans have done to each other over the millennia, how is it we've survived this long? I hadn't managed to phrase this question as such until recently, but this is something I have been struggling with for years. It was only a few months ago that I finally came to the answer. For every such act of cruelty, there are countless small acts of kindness, compassion, and love to balance it out. This is the only way we as a species could have lasted this long without destroying ourselves.
